     Dear Friends & Honored Guests,

     The Buddhist Ullambana Day Ceremony is a Celebration in Remembrance of our parents' great efforts on our behalf, throughout our lives. To obey Buddha’s teaching and following the Mahamaudgalyayana Bodhisattva’s filial virtues, with great gratitude to our parents and our ancestors graces, in remembrance of the solders that gave their lives fighting for our freedom, and of our fellow country men and women who perished in their quests for freedom, we wish to invite you and your family to:

To help us worship the Tripple Jewels and commemorate the Great Ullambana Ceremony, on Saturday  August 28 and Sunday  August 29, 2010.

 

     The Ceremony includes: Dharma talk, Chanting, Members taking Refuge to the Triple Jewels Offering of food to Buddhist Monks and Nuns, praying for peace and wellness, and release of birds.

 

In addition to a traditional Buddhist Ceremony, we will also have a Musical Entertainment from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Cohn Adult High School – 4805 Park Avenue., Nashville, TN 37209.

 

                        Your present is an expression of your profound gratitude towards the Buddha, and an encouragement to us in our Dharma Service to you. We look forward to sharing this celebration

5:30 PM: Flower offering

5:40 PM: Official Ceremony Commences

5:50 PM: Advice and Guidance from the Honorable Buddhist Sanghas

6:00 PM: Offering of Roses

6:15 PM: Members express their feeling toward parents

6:30 PM: Chanting Ullambana Poem and Transferring of Merit.

9:15 AM:  Welcome the Honorable Buddhist Monks and Nuns into Sanctuary

9:30 AM:  Opening Ullbambana Sutra and Taking Refuge to the Triple Jewels Ceremony

10:30 AM:  Dharma Talk

11:30 AM:  To offer food to those who have passed away

12:00 PM:  To offer presents to the monks and nuns on the occation of a fasting ceremony.

2:00 PM:    To bestow food to the Lost Souls

3:00 PM:  To release living creatures

Vegetable Lunch will be served to all attendees
