Let’s  Mindfully Recite The Buddha’s Name Together

Translated into English by Pháp Hạnh

Mindfully reciting the Buddha’s Name is to make images of the Buddhas present in our minds.  We allow the Buddhas’ aspiration for enlightenment to spring up in our consciousness.  We also make the Buddhas’ sacred vows and conducts present in each and every gesture, movement, and action of us in our daily lives.  By doing so, we are present in Them and They are present in us.  Furthermore, Their Pure Lands gradually manifest themselves in our consciousness and we will automatically be present in Their Pure Lands.

Reciting the Buddha’s Name in that way will purify our mind.  All of our sorrows and impurities will settle down.  All grudges and resentments between us and other people and others beings will be dissolved.  Our love expands.  We are no longer restricted by our narrow perspectives and we are able to cultivate even more wholesome blessings.

And if we recite the Buddha’s name in such a way, the Buddha will manifest in our mind, in our daily lives.  With Buddha in our mind, our speech will always be guided in the direction of enlightened speech not wrongful speech, our actions will be guided in the direction of lofty liberation not the path being trapped and degraded in the cycle of death and rebirth.

Mindfully reciting the Buddha’s name makes our lives correspond with the life force in the Pure Lands and makes it possible for us to establish the Pure Lands for ourselves and all other sentient beings anywhere and any time.

Therefore, mindfully reciting the Buddha’s Name is the most valuable condition which helps us be directly in touch with the Buddhas in ten directions of the past, present, and future.  It is also the condition to welcome or wake up the Buddha within us to be born or to manifest in life in order to help liberate sentient beings from suffering and start up Pure Lands.

Reciting mindfully the Buddhas’ Names in such way make each passing day a day closer to enlightenment, closer to the true and immense Homeland, to peace and freedom.

So, if we wish to overcome and transform our suffering in life and achieve freedom, if we wish for freedom, a real and peaceful homeland, then together let’s mindfully recite the Buddha’ Name.
