PILGRIMAGE TO BUDDHIST HOLY SITES IN INDIA

From November 01, 2020 to November 09, 2020

 

On November 01, 2020: Buddhist Monks, Nuns and Buddhists will depart from Vietnam to India.

On November 03, 2020: Started for the retreat in 2020 at An Viet Nam Phat Quoc Tu - Bodhgaya.

On November 06, 2020: Organized Ceremony of worshiping Ancestor “Hoằng Nhơn” at An Viet Nam Phat Quoc Tu - Bodhgaya.

First day: From to Varanasi on Nov 01, 2020.

  • Started from Vietnam to Varanasi.
  • Check in Hotel in Varanasi.

Second day: Varanasi – Bodhgaya on Nov 02, 2020.

·       Enjoying the sunrise and prayer on the Ganga river at 5 am.

·       Having breakfast at the hotel at 7:30 am and then the group will visit to the following Buddhist sites:

  • Dhamekha (Stupa of turning the Wheel of Dharma).
  • Chaukhandi (Stupa where the Buddha met the five ascetics)
  • Saranath museum
  • Mulagandha Kuti Vihara (The oldest temple of Srilanka)
  • Visiting to Dai Loc temple (Ven. Tuong Quang)
  • Having the lunch at the hotel and then coming to Bodhgaya.

 

BODHGAYA

Third day: Bồ đề Đạo tràng (Bodhgaya) on Nov 03, 2020.

·       The delegation will come to the great Stupa at Bodhgaya to pay homage and pray at 5 am.

·       Having breakfast at 7:30 am at temple and then begin the retreat at 9 am (having its own program)

Fourth day: Vietnam temple – Bodhgaya on Nov 04, 2020.

·       Buddhists continue to practice at Vietnam temple according to the program.

Fifth day: Vietnam temple – Bodhgaya on Nov 05, 2020.

·       Buddhists continue to practice at Vietnam temple according to the program.

·       Monks, Nuns, and Buddhists will have a meeting to discuss the program of worshiping ceremony of ancestor “Hoang Nhon” after the evening chanting.

Sixth day: Vietnam temple – Bodhgaya on Nov 06, 2020.

·       Buddhists continue to practice at Vietnam temple according to the program.

·       Monks, Nuns, and all Buddhists prepare to welcome the international Monks, Nuns and good guests from the temples surrounding Bodhgaya to participate the ceremony of worshiping ancestor “Hoang Nhon” at 8 am (There is a separate program for the ceremony of worshiping ancestor at 9 am)

·       Buddhists continue to practice at Vietnam temple according to the program.

Seventh day: Bodhgaya – Chicken mountain - Mahacala on Nov 07, 2020.

The group will depart to visit some of the following Buddhist sites around Bodhgaya as follow:

  • Dungeshwari cave / Uruvela / Mahacala.
  • Giving porridge to the poor at Mahacala.
  • Sujata Village.
  • Visiting international temples around.
  • Shopping.

Eighth day: Bodhgaya – Rajgir on Nov 08, 2020.

The group will depart to visit some of the following Buddhist sites at 4 am:

 

·       Rajgir where Buddha spent 12 years.

·       Jail where King was imprisoned.

·       Bamboo temple.

·       Having lunch at Bamboo garden.

·       Nalanda University.

·       Fa Shian Museum.

Nineth: Gaya airport to Vietnam on Nov 09, 2020.

·       Come back to Vietnam from Gaya airport.
